Introduction to the presenter

Ye HengqiangMaterials scientistAcademician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher and doctoral supervisor of Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences。He graduated from the Physical Chemistry Department of Beijing Iron and Steel Institute in 1964, and graduated from the Institute of Metal Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1967。

He is engaged in the study of the structure and defects of solid substances and materials and their relationship with material properties。The quintuplet symmetry, which is not allowed by traditional crystallography, has been discovered and studied, and icosahedral symmetry, octave symmetry, cubic symmetry and other quasicrystalline phases have been studied。He took the lead in systematically studying the structure and defects of solid materials with high-resolution atomic images in China, developed the technique and theory of studying the fine structure of materials at atomic scale, and discovered many new phases and domain structures in the topic-packed phases of superalloys。Several new structures have been determined by displaying different types of atoms in ordered alloys with superstructure images, and the formation mechanism of incongruity structures has been directly revealed。He has won many national Natural science first prize awards, and won the Qian Linzhao Award of China Electron Microscopy Society in 1994。He received the Ho Liang Ho Li Award for Scientific and Technological Progress in 1996。He was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991。In 2019, he was introduced into Foshan Jihua Laboratory on a full-time basis and became the first full-time academician in Foshan。
